What is the policy for using a military exchange other than a Coast Guard exchange?

What is the policy for using a military exchange other than a Coast Guard exchange? We have been told at an exchange that we have visited for several years that we are no longer permitted there because the Coast Guard is part of Homeland Security and the base, which is Air Force Reserve, is part of Dept. of Defense. The manager says HLS won't let their people in CG exchanges; therefore CG and AUX are not permitted in theirs. Is that just her policy, a local policy or what? The local CG exchange said they never heard of such a thing.

The Armed Services Exchange Policy (DOD Directive 1330.9 dated 27 Nov 03) authorizes Auxiliary members to purchase uniform articles and accessories at DOD Exchanges.  Auxiliarists must present their Auxiliary ID Card to the DOD exchange.  Similarly, Coast Guard policy states members of other services may use Coast Guard Exchanges.

The best way to resolve this issue is through your chain of leadership and management to your Director of Auxiliary.  They are most familiar with your local situation, and can provide a more precise response.
