What is the policy on allowing non-Auxiliary spouses of the deceased to be aboard either Coast Guard or Auxiliary operational facilities to attend burial at sea services?

Local Coast Guard Decedent Affairs offices handle burial at sea.  As local policies may differ, Auxiliarists should utilize their chain of leadership and management to determine details of this procedure.  Generally, the Commanding Officer of the vessel determines who may be a passenger for a burial at sea.  Similarly, the coxswain of an Auxiliary facility determines the allowable number of passengers.
